Porcupines, GPS collars, foraging, disturbance, geophytes
Nieuwoudtville in the Succulent Karoo;
Franschhoek in the Western Cape,
Kuruman Reserve, Northern Cape in the Kalahari Desert; Belmont farm in the
Eastern Cape.
I am putting GPS collars on 16 porcupines (sponsored by Porcupine Ridge Wine) in
order to track their foraging patterns and landscape use. I also am interested
in investigating the valuable role porcupines play in promoting biodiversity and
in ecosystem function.
